Hola!  We're Len and Dr. Suzy Osborne, and we'll be your guides as you kick back, relax, and explore Costa Rica, a land of unparalleled beauty and ancient wisdom. We invite you to slow down and enjoy the ride, as we begin to share our life changing Pura Vida adventure with you.

Travel with us and an adventure as we take you back in time, to a much simpler place, far away from the pressures of the modern world.

Come along with us to Monteverde as we hike under the canopies of ancient strangler fig trees.  Experience the exhilarating feeling that comes from breathing fresh, unpolluted, oxygen rich air in one of the last remaining virgin  cloudforests in the world.

Feel the awesome energy of ten foot waves crashing over you as you body surf off the rugged shorelines of Montezuma, Playa Hermosa, and Manuel Antonio. Gallop high spirited horses along the ridges of lush volcanic mountain ranges and catch an unforgettable glimpse of the resplendent, rare quetzal bird.

Before you continue exploring Costa Rica from the comfort of your chair, we invite you to slow down, take a few deep breaths, and put on some good music.  Like our Tico (Native Costa Rican) friends told us when we arrived in their peaceful country still buzzing from our busy cyber world, Tranquilo!

Like many of you, we began hearing fascinating tales about the raw, primal beauty and positive energy of Costa Rica many years ago. We were fortunate to have friends who had been there and were able to share unbiased,  first hand information with us, which helped steer us in the right direction. Now, we would like to share some of our information with others who may benefit from our experiences.

For us, visiting this tiny country was a spiritual, life changing adventure. We hope that this web site will bring some positive attention to this special, endangered spot. Hopefully, in some way, we can help contribute to preserving what precious little is  left of one of the most fragile ecosystems on earth.

The "Ticos", or native Costa Ricans, have a lovely saying that is symbolic of their unique way of living; "PuraVida", which literally means "Pure Life". It is used as a warm, friendly greeting and as an expression of the inner joy they feel while living their simple, natural lives-- one day at a time. The pura vida philosophy was the inspiration for our soon to be published book and also for this unique website.

In the spring of 1994, we embarked on our exhilarating  Pura Vida journey just before the beginning of the Rainy or "Green Season,"--which runs from May through November.  During rainy season in Costa Rica, plant life is profuse, with a vibrant greenness that seeps into the soul.   Throughout the thirty days and nights of our first trip, we decided to temporarily "step out of the rat race," and take some time to collect our thoughts, recenter, and simply live in the moment. Instead of carefully planning our trip, we decided to go with the flow, and see where it would take us.

From the beginning, our journey seemed to be propelled by a series of meaningful coincidences, with one helpful person leading to another, charting the course for an adventure that eventually took on a slow, sensual rhythm all its own.
